Our People

Ray Turton
Caretaker
Ray Turton has been working with Bornhoffen since 1997. Ray’s main focus is providing customer service and support to groups during their stay as well as the maintenance of buildings, facilities and the grounds at Bornhoffen. He also undertakes venue improvements and construction projects.

Jason Brooking
Relief Caretaker
Jason Brooking, has been invloved with outdoor education in Northern NSW and South East Queensland since 1997, as an instructor leading many expeditions, running adventure activities, teaching bushtucker and environmental education. He also has a background in building, landscaping and bush regeneration. Jason is currently working part-time as our Relief Caretaker and has an interest in developing Bornhoffen,s facilities for youth development programmes.

Mike Coker
Adventure Development Consultant
Mike joined the Adventure Development Team at Bornhoffen in June 2006 as a casual Facilitator of experiential programs and is now employed full time in the role of Adventure Development Consultant. While still facilitating, this role sees Mike program co-ordinating, consulting with partner organisations and program planning. Mike has a Diploma in Adventure Eco Tourism along with other Industry related Qualifications and has worked in New Zealand, South East Queensland and Canada.

Jai Canobie
Adventure Development Consultant
Jai joined the Bornhoffen Adventure Development Team in October 2009. Jai has been working in the outdoor education field for the past threee years in a variety of locations around Australia. Jai has always been involved in and had an interest in activities that lead to the pursuit of adventure whether it was building a flying fox in the back yard or racing down a hill on a BMX.

Marissa Hayes
Adventure Development Consultant
Marissa joined the Bornhoffen Adventure Development Team in 2009 as a Casual Facilitator. Marissa has a passion for Outdoor Activities and assisting Youth and Community to rise to challenges in an outdoor environment. Marissa has completed her Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation, she is also Australian Swim Accredited and has worked in Camp Counselling Positions in the USA.

Adventure Development Associate Staff
Adventure Development employs a large number (around 30) of associate staff on a casual basis at various times over the course of the year.

Lucinda Fergus
Administration Officer
Lucinda commenced working with PCYC in 2008. Her primary roles are customer service, bookings management, website management and financial administration. Her previous background is in the Film Industry specifically the areas of Accounting and Administration and she has also worked with a variety of organisations to multinational corporations.

Karen Cameron-Lyon
Adventure Development Support Officer
Karen joined the staff at Bornhoffen in August 2009 with her primary responsibility being to support the Adventure Development Team in organisation aspects of the Adventure Development experience. Karen has a Bachelor of General Studies (Education) and is passionate about utilising the outdoors in the pursuit of emotional and personal development. Karen has worked in numerous organisations across fields including finance, retail and education.

Arron Sullivan
Adventure Development Manager
Arron joined PCYC full-time in 2005. Prior to that, he has worked with various outdoor education and people development organisations in south east Queensland including PCYC. Arron has management responsibility for Adventure Development services as well as partnering with Mick on overall business management. Arron has a Bachelor of Arts (Leisure Management) and has current Wilderness First Aid as well as National Outdoor Leader Registration in Abseiling, Climbing, Ropes Courses and Bushwalking.

Michael (Mick) Foran
Centre Manager
Mick has been working with PCYC since 1996 as well as a number of other outdoor education and people development organisations in South East Queensland and the UK. Mick has management responsibility for venue and catering services as well as partnering with Arron on overall business management. Mick has a Bachelor of Arts (Leisure Management) and Certificate IV (Community Services).
