PCYC Adventure Development

Adventure Development is our program service which was established in 1993. We design and deliver experiential learning programs for young people as well as people who work with young people.

The definition of adventure is ‘uncertainty of outcome’. Adventure can play a powerful role is our development. When we try new things and experience success, it builds our confidence and improves our ability to succeed in other areas of our lives.

Partnerships – connecting with organisations
We work in partnership with primary schools, high schools, community organisations, youth services, churches, special needs groups, families, universities, government departments and our own PCYCs.

Flexibility - every group is different
We aim to be flexible and design an experience based on the goals and outcomes you have for your group as well as other factors such as the age and ability of participants, their previous experience and your budget. Program duration can vary from a half day to ten days or even longer. Programs can be classified at the planning stage according to the outcomes you are seeking:

• Recreation - feel differently
• Education - think differently
• Development - behave differently
• Intervention - establishing changes in behaviour that are positive and sustainable

Mobile - our place or yours
One of Adventure Development’s key strengths is its mobility. We have the ability to transport staff and equipment and are able to access sites in Brisbane, south east Queensland or regional Queensland. Alternatively, we can deliver programs at Bornhoffen - our own venue – as well as sites throughout the Numinbah Valley.
